Why is the VAT price reduction 2.13% and not 2.5%?
The example below illustrates how the 2.13% reduction is calculated:
- On a product that sells for £100 EX VAT, the price incl. current 17.5% VAT is £117.5
- Same product with the new 15% VAT is £115
- Price difference is 117.5-115 = 2.5 which equals a 2.13% reduction
